Eesti Joonisfilm Studio is pleased to announce the premieres of two new animated films on 1 November at the Sõprus Cinema – Kaspar Jancis’s Villa Antropoff and Priit Tender’s The Maggot Feeder.
Estonia’s animated film enthusiasts will be able to see these films in movie theatres at the end of November already at the Animated Dreams Animated Film Festival.
Villa Antropoff was completed as a co-production between Eesti Joonisfilm Studio and the Latvian Lunohod Studio. The film has been nominated for the European Film Academy’s Short Film Award. The Estonian Film Foundation, the Estonian Cultural Endowment, and the Estonian Ministry of Culture supported the Estonian portion of the production of Villa Antropoff.
Priit Tender’s The Maggot Feeder is based on a Chukchi fairy tale. The actors Elina Reinold and Taavi Eelmaa have lent their faces and voices to the main characters. The Estonian Cultural Endowment and the Estonian Film Foundation supported the completion of this film.
