Mattias Mälk’s animated film Strawberry Eaters won an award in Brazil Mattias Mälk’s animated film Strawberry Eaters, which contains elements of horror, participated in the Lanterna Mágica International Animation Festival, in Brazil, and won the award for Best Art Direction.

The Art Designer for Strawberry Eaters was Martinus Klemet, who designed the characters and world in the film, mixing a comics-like style with that of Native American art.

Director Mattias Mälk: ‘The story for the film required a world that was strange and alien. ‘When developing the style of Strawberry Eaters biomorphism was also our goal.’

The film was completed at the Eesti Joonisfilm studio and the film was supported by the Estonian Film Institute and the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
