Three new Estonian animated films will premiere at the Sõprus movie theatre on 19 November!

At the end of the year, the studios Eesti Joonisfilm and Nukufilm can once again please Estonia’s animation enthusiasts with the completion of 3 new animated films – Priit Tender’s House of Unconsciousness (Eesti Joonisfilm), Mattias Mälk’s studio debut Northern Star (Eesti Joonisfilm) and Ülo Pikkov’s Tik-Tak (Nukufilm). Even though the films are on very different topics, all the films are characterised by surrealism and the intertwining of dreams and reality to the point where it is quite complicated to separate the two.

The films will premiere at the Sõprus movie theatre at the opening ceremony of the Animated Dreams Animated Film Festival.

The 11-minute cartoon animation film House of Unconsciousness tells a psychedelic story about a chimney sweep and a burning woman. Northern Star takes the viewer on a 14-minute cartoon journey into the dim world spies, divers and starfish. Tik-Tak, however, is a 9-minute puppet animation film that visualises time and its fatal nature.

Northern Star, House of Unconsciousness, Tik-Tak and several other new domestic animated films can also be seen in the Animated Dreams programme Brave, New Estonian Animation on 23 November at 15:15 at the Artis movie theatre.
