Olga and Priit Pärn’s animated film Divers in the Rain won the Grand Prix at the reputable ANIFEST Animated Film Festival that took place from 27 April to 1 May in Teplice in the Czech Republic. The festival celebrated its tenth anniversary this year.
The festival jury, consisting of Andreas Hykade (Germany), Joanna Quinn (England), Noro Držiak (Czech Republic), Otto Alder (Switzerland) and Olivier Cotte (France) justified its decision succinctly: for describing the absurdity of existence.
Divers in the Rain has won 15 awards at the top festivals of the world over the past 18 months and is without a doubt the most successful short animated film in the world during this period.
Divers in the Rain was completed at Eesti Joonisfilm Studio in 2010 and the Estonian Film Foundation supported the completion of the film.
